Focuses on aspects of maternal, newborn and women’s health. Complications that may occur during pregnancy, childbirth, in the newborn. The nurse’s role as educator, patient advocate, and care provider are reflected in the application of the nursing process to a variety of clinical and laboratory experiences. Areas of clinical practice may include acute care (hospital), prenatal care office settings, public health clinics, home follow-up care, and educational settings. The application of principles in pharmacology, nutrition, social sciences and biophysical science are correlated throughout the course. Lecture Hours: 36 | Lab Hours: 12 | Clinical Hours: 54
