AGN 272 - Agronomic Watershed Management 4 Credit(s)
This course will provide students skills and competencies in developing the systems, practices and structures involved in managing water quality and reduce flooding in a watershed. The course will focus on agronomic and ecological practices that keep water in the landscape and reduce nitrate, phosphate, soil erosion and bacterial impacts from the run-off and tile outputs of crop and livestock farming practices. The course will also allow students to practice the sociology of change necessary to work with the agricultural community and municipalities to develop a watershed community. The course is built from the EPA’s online watershed management certificate program. Lecture Hours: 48 | Lab Hours: 32
