BIO 151 - Nutrition 3 Credit(s) This course examines the structure and function of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins, minerals and water in the diet and human body. The processes of digestion, absorption, and metabolism are examined at the chemical, cellular, and organ levels. Foods and dietary requirements are identified to maintain health and identify disease throughout the entire life cycle. Lecture Hours: 48
Prerequisite(s): One year of high school biology/chemistry or college equivalent with a minimum grade of C-; or a minimum grade of C- in BIO 112 , BIO 157 , BIO 168 or CHM 110 . Note: Corresponds to college or university lower division coursework.
