ECE 133 - Child Health, Safety, and Nutrition 3 Credit(s)
During this course students will address the interrelationship of health, safety, and nutrition to the growth and development of young children. Based on the concept of preventive health, emphasis is given to nutrient composition of foods, and the relationship of nutrients to growth, motor, cognitive and emotional development. Also included in the course are conditions that affect children’s health, management of acute and chronic illness and general principles of safety in planning the young child’s environment.
