WEL 427 - Basic Arc Welding (SMAW) 3 Credit(s) The operation of AC transformer and DC motor generation arc welding machines are covered. Studies are made of welding heats, polarities, and electrodes for use in joining various metal alloys by the arc welding process. After the student is capable of running beads, the student will create 1G, and 1F groove and fillet welds to D1.1 AWS code. Safety procedures are emphasized throughout the course in the use of tools and equipment. Lecture Hours: 16 | Lab Hours: 64
