LGL 286 - Investigation and Interview Techniques for Paralegals

An overview of the fact-gathering process for paralegals. It includes principles and techniques of investigation, sources of public and private information, and the methodology of developing interview questions and conducting interviews. Students will learn the recording and analyzing of data collected and create writing assessments and histories. The Rules of Evidence and their application to the investigation process will be presented. The ethical duty of confidentiality and attorney-client privilege as it relates to investigations and interviews will be stressed. Lecture Hours: 48 | Lab Hours: 0
